The concept for DOW sort of came to me as I was thinking about a scene from one of my favorite movies. In When Harry Met Sally, Sally is talking to Harry about how one of her exes broke up with her because of some days of the week underpants she used to wear. It was the strangest strike of inspiration, so I couldn't help but tell you all where I got the idea to do a day-themed blog. I looked all over YouTube for the clip, but I couldn't find it. So here is the script from that scene:
Sally Albright: Well, if you must know, it was because he was very jealous, and I had these days of the week underpants.
Harry Burns: Ehhhh. I'm sorry. I need the judge's ruling on this. "Days of the week underpants"?
Sally Albright: Yes. They had the days of the week on them, and I thought they were sort of funny. And then one day Sheldon says to me, "You never wear Sunday." It was all suspicious. Where was Sunday? Where had I left Sunday? And I told him, and he didn't believe me.
Harry Burns: What?
Sally Albright: They don't make Sunday.
Harry Burns: Why not?
Sally Albright: Because of God.
I created Days of the Week Blog so that I would have an organized venue through which I could blog consistently. With the format of DOW, I'll never have to sit around wondering what I'm going to blog about because I have a topic for every day!
